The objectives of OTELA are:

a. to promote communication and cooperation among the membership;

b. to address issues shared by the membership;

c. to develop cooperative projects that will enhance and improve Ontario teacher education libraries;

d. to promote opportunities for professional development through participation in the work of the Association;

e. to liaise with the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training, regional/provincial/national educational and library associations, and other groups as appropriate.

The membership is open to libraries of Ontario universities that support programmes and studies in education. Each member library selects its delegates to OTELA.
